Project Fresh Start
NASA Education's current program is Project Fresh Start, providing training to
veterans who are newly released, displaced, disabled, homeless or otherwise in transition or distressed. The goal is to prepare U.S. veterans for both workforce and community reintegration.
After participants successfully complete their training, NASA Education attempts to place them in competitive employment positions so they can utilize their new skills. One example is the automotive repair facility Vets Total Car Care, as highlighted in this Northwest Herald video.

Vets Total Car Care is able to provide all of the general automotive care, such as brakes, oil changes, new tires, exhaust system maintenance and replacement, as well as, installation of stereos, keyless entry, remote starters and has also partnered with National Interlock Service to install the Breath Alcohol Ignition Interlock Device (BAIID) as required by the new laws passed regarding DUI first convictions.
