June 28, 2022While dealing with an unpleasant copyright lawsuit from Strike 3 Holdings, I interviewed numerous law firms, and then I came across Jeffrey Antonelli. I didn’t need to look any further. He took ample time to hear me out, assess the situation and offer all potential scenarios of how to resolve this issue. He is one THE MOST professional and attentive attorneys I’ve ever met. Within 10 days, he was able to settle the matter for approx. 2% of the original settlement amount. Jeffrey is amazing. I can’t recommend him enough. Phenomenal attorney and an amazing person in general. Thank You!
Does Strike 3 Holdings LLC Produce Adult Films?
Yes, Strike 3 Holdings LLC is a company that produces pornographic films. Their adult films are published under the subscription sites Blacked, Vixen, and Tushy.
The company is currently filing federal lawsuits, as well as lawsuits in Florida State Court, for copyright infringement.
If you’re reading this, you’ve likely been served with a subpoena and are about to be sued. They are accusing you, or someone in your home or office, of illegally downloading Strike 3 Holding’s adult films, most likely through BitTorrent sharing software.
My Strike 3 Holdings LLC Lawsuit Is Real, Now What?
So now that you know your Strike 3 Holdings lawsuit is real, what do you do?
Don’t sign anything. In any lawsuit, you shouldn’t sign paperwork without fully understanding what you are agreeing to. If you receive something in the mail from Strike 3 Holdings requesting a signature, do not sign it until you have had the chance to consult with an attorney representing them so that you know the implications of what you are signing.
Don’t delete anything. Many defendants assume that if they delete the content from their devices, it will help get rid of any evidence that they’ve downloaded Strike 3 Holdings’ content. This is not the case. In fact, if you do delete content, it can make the penalties worse and appear as an admission of guilt.
Contact an experienced internet service provider subpoena defense attorney. Once you are sure you are being sued, you should contact someone who can guide you through the next steps. How Did Strike 3 Holdings LLC Find You?
Each internet connection has a unique IP address that is specific to that connection. Using various methods and technology, Strike 3 Holdings was allegedly able to track illegal downloads of their content to your IP address.
Once Strike 3 Holdings has your IP address, they can do a ‘reverse lookup’ and figure out who provides the internet to your home (Comcast, Verizon, AT&T, Cox, etc.).
Knowing both your IP address and your internet provider, Strike 3 Holdings files a federal lawsuit for copyright infringement and asks a judge for permission to send a subpoena to your internet provider. This subpoena is requesting your name and address. The notice you received is your internet provider letting you know your personal information is being requested. Before your internet provider releases this information, they send the subpoena notification to you.
When you receive this notification, you are still anonymous. The court and Strike 3 Holdings still know you as ‘John Doe.’ Typically, you have 30 days or less from the day you receive the notification to decide how you want to handle your case. The longer you wait, the fewer options you’ll have.
